Everyone is welcome to enjoy an elegant dinner of classic, sophisticated cuisine in the elegance of the Mozart Room. With or without tickets to a show, dining at the Mozart Room never ceases to impress. Reservations are required for dinner. You may also consider hosting a private function in the Mozart Room.
Hard to believe it is that time of year again!
The senior executives of our team traveled to sunny Las Vegas to attend the annual Catersource Conference & Trade Show. We decided to take a year off from competing in the table top and catering competitions, instead attending more seminars and trade show exhibits.
This allowed us to hear about upcoming trends, learn about new techniques and be inspired by extraordinary displays that we are able to bring back to Pittsburgh and incorporate into making our events even more fabulous.
Attending this conference is important for our company to stay current on new catering ideas and take our events to the next level. It also allows us to continue to grow with knowledge and respect towards our fellow co-workers and industry peers. We return feeling rejuvenated, re-energized and ready to take on the upcoming catering season.
We have a few baseball themed parties coming up this year. Being a Pittsburgh caterer in a city with winning sport teams, it was a no-brainer for our pastry chef Mandy to bake up a few mentionable ballpark desserts to offer our catering clients.
Our overall favorite was the Nachos – cinnamon sugared chips topped with cream cheese frosting, strawberries and whipped cream. Who wouldn’t love a chocolate covered pretzel baseball bat? It may look like a corn dog but once you bite into it you realize it is a cake dog! Every child looks for cookies and brownies to snack on, we offer baseball sugar cookies and brownie baseball mitts.
You will certainly feel like you are at the ball game with these Pittsburgh catered desserts at your event.
We invited our brides & grooms who are getting married this year and using our services for their celebration to visit the Common Plea Catering kitchen for a bridal tasting. They were greeted with a tower of Prosecco, red & white wine and Pellegrino.
They had the pleasure of sampling several passed hors d’oeuvres, which included bacon wrapped jalapeño peppers filled with cream cheese, shrimp marinated with lime & dill, pesto chicken in a tartlet, mac & cheese on an edible spoon and kale & quinoa cakes with roasted red pepper coulis along with several additional items.
Next they were given the opportunity to sample several salad choices, visit our various carving stations and try a variety of sauces at the pasta station. They were able to see a plated entree as well as a duel entree and sample entree items which included shrimp & scallops, bronzino napoleon, spinach & crab filled salmon, pierre breast of chicken, chicken capricciosa, peppercorn crusted filet, seasoned sirloin and pork tenderloin along with a few other favorites.
The sweet ending consisted of our house made cookie display along with take home containers for our guests to fill with the sweet treats.
